Immersive Musical

Experience

Structure + Morphology

" The keys begin, the keys end. You know there are 88 of them and no-one can tell you differently. They are not infinite, you are infinite. And on those 88 keys the music that you can make is infinite. I like that. That I can live by. But you get me up on that gangway and roll out a keyboard with millions of keys, and that's the truth, there's no end to them, that keyboard is infinite. "

Introduction

The legend of 1900 and Whiplash are the two must-watch movies. They are very similar in illustrating the loneliness and struggles of musicians on their ways of pursuing musical success. But on the other side, the main characters of the films, 1900 and Andrew, are totally different types of person, which I would differentiate them through directions in our stylistic approach.

In this project, I extracted the details and essential structures from both movies, creating a frramework that expresses the pure emotional themes to the audience in an abstract but immersive way, which includes style creation, planning, music creation, and galetine bubble artworks. Technologies played an essential role in transforming concepts and mediums. According to Kenya Hara, "human beings and the environment being equally tangible, the comfort as well as the satisfaction we sense is based on how we appreciate and cherish our communication with the world via our diverse sensory organs. "In other words, the paired fields of design and technology are headed in the same direction.
